Setting Up a Tower Crane
In April 2014 Trinity Hall College was granted permission to redevelop the St Clement’s Gardens houses on Thompson’s Lane (fondly remembered by many alumni as “Clems”). Work started in October 2014 to construct a modern, four-storey building on the site, which will provide 72 en-suite student bedrooms.

On 16th and 17th September this year, Lord Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury, now Master of Magdalene College hosted an unusual event in Cripps Court. ‘Growing Wisdom, Changing People’: a Dialogue with the Dalai Lama was designed to ‘create a space where young people and leading thinkers and practitioners can explore in conversation with Lord Williams and His Holiness the concept of Universal Responsibility and what it can mean for the world’.

Amgen Scholars have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Cambridge University faculty members, including some of the world’s top academic scientists. They work during the summer holidays undertaking hands-on laboratory research, and actively contribute to the advancement of science. Applications from undergraduates across Europe number in their thousands but only 80 are selected – these kids are the brightest of the brightest.

Ernulf Academy is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in St Neots – it was the first 11-18 specialist performing arts college in Cambridgeshire. The new Headteacher wasn’t happy with the imagery used in their prospectus and so contacted me at late notice to meet a printing deadline. The new Headteacher is my sister and so I said yes and worked cheap.

Originally known as The Sir Harry Smith Secondary School and built to accommodate 600 students, the doors first opened to an intake of 360 students in September 1953. Sir Harry Smith Community College currently has over 1,200 students on roll. The majority of students at Sir Harry Smith come from the Whittlesey and neighbouring villages.

Trinity Hall Boat Club revealed it’s newly refurbished boathouse with an official opening on 13th June 2015 by Dr Walter Scott. The improvements were made to ensure that it was secure in its footings, generous in its facilities, and up-to-date with its equipment. Following a £2 million investment it must be the smartest boathouse along the river.

Rugby legends Phil Vickery and Alex Corbisiero visited Coutts offices in Cambridge on Monday 15th June 2015 with the RBS 6 Nations Trophy. I was asked by Coutts to take pictures of guests with the two lads during the reception.

I was happy to be asked by an old friend to photograph his daughter’s lingerie designs for the 2015 Nottingham Trent University Degree Show which we shot in the bluebell woods at Dullingham near Newmarket. Chloe Bampton was inspired by her grandparents’ wartime love letters and created a line of vintage-looking lingerie focused on nostalgia and romance.

Cycle of Songs was an Arts Council England funded project commissioned by Cambridge City Council, devised by the award winning Pilot Theatre and Historyworks to mark the Tour de France visit to Cambridge on 7 July 2014.
The project showcased and celebrated the talent and diversity of Cambridge and includes many local people of all ages sharing their voice and celebrating the city in song. Nine pieces were commissioned from a wide range of composers and poets, inspired by historical research & based on words from original sources of fascinating & quirky stories at iconic locations along the Tour’s route in Cambridge.

A red telephone box sits next to the thatched pavilion, overlooking the immaculate field of play and the sloping Chiltern Hills beyond. Red Kites wheel overhead, floating on the air currents while the game unfolds below.

Cambridge University students celebrated the end of exams last weekend on the day that’s dubbed ‘Suicide Sunday’ – apparantly named as it’s a veritable miracle the undergrads haven’t ended it all by this point. A recent component to the celebrations is the Cardboard Boat Race which involves the building and sailing of cardboard boats down the River Cam.
